Happy New Year and Welcome 2013!
I’m very excited that the new year has finally arrived and I can’t wait to see what 2013 will bring. Not only will it give me more stress, headaches, and frustrations while working in post, but it will also present me new and exciting opportunities! Yes I am an optimist. I also like to thank you, the avid follower of my website and of this project. You’ve seen the process of this puppy since its inception back in November 2011! You are what keeps me going in completing this film so I want to say thank you. I’ll probably say it again when we finish the darn thing in 201?. If this is your first time checking out the Production Logs, it’s not too late to check back from the beginning. I’ve come along way since:
- New computer hardware: NVidia graphics card, ASUS motherboard, and WD 2 Terabyte External Hard drive
- New visual effect software programs: Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5, Red Giant’s Trapcode Suite, VCP Optical Flares
- New experience working with P2 and DVCPRO HD codecs: Panasonic AG-HVX200 Camera
- Experience doing green screen production
- Interstate travel for talent and crew for production: Miles traveled crossing over three states!
Enough with the past. Here’s what I have in store for the following six months.
- Complete two sequences of visual effects and graphic design work by June 2013.
- Equipment rental for the second production dates in July have been reserved.
- Production Dailies from the Aug. shoot in 2012 will be studied in January.
- Release of a teaser scene on the Vimeo account by the end of January for my crew, actors, and potential financiers.
- Contacting actors and crew with plans for our second production shoot in July.
- Obtain two more VFX software programs by August.
- The month of March will begin fight choreography.
- Begin fundraising opportunities during the November/December months either through indiegogo.com or kickstarter.com.
There you have it. Again, all of this is what I hope to accomplish but dates are attentive.
Just to show you that I’m not sitting around watching re-runs of The Golden Girls on Food Network, I’ve featured an updated still from a previous one that we’ve posted in Production Log 7 post. Plans on added two more characters in this shot are already being composited. So see you next time and stayed tuned!
