As we roll along into the month of November, I quickly realized on how fast the year 2013 is approaching. I’m excited for the opportunities that the new year will present but I still have my work cut out as I give you an update on how Gauntlet is proceeding.
Production Log 6 begins by stating that I’ve successfully spliced a rough cut from all the scenes that we shot during our August Production dates. A fun blooper reel has been cut together for the crew and actors only, which can be viewed online with a password. Maybe in 2013 I’ll release it to the public but as of now, I’m keeping all footage close to the chest.
Currently I’ve begun the audio editing process using Adobe Audition® as our editing software. Unbelievable workflow between Premiere® and Audition® that I highly recommend this method for post workflow to other indie filmmakers out there.
As for the visual effects, I’ve tested my ideas and realized quickly that now it’s best to take my time with it. This is not saying that I’m dropping my ideas for the film. It’s just I’ve discovered that taking baby steps at this time is more realistic in order to accomplish my vision for the project. My goal has shifted to do all the things that I already know very well, meanwhile study and craft the graphics and visual effects in 2013. I also plan on purchasing three major plug-ins for After Effects®.
Print material is coming along steadily. I should have at least a main poster design by the end of November to show as a teaser poster for the project to our followers. Fingers are crossed but I am confident in my Print Artist MegAnne to create something that will melt your face off!
There you have it, our update for Gauntlet. Thanks for following us and I’ll keep you posted as I plan on sharing still shots from the film on my next post later this month.
Also from JEL Production, we hope you had a Happy Halloween holiday! I dressed up as an average tax-paying American citizen with a comb over and reading glasses. Tough costume to come by.
