GAUNTLET
Throughout my filmmaking odyssey, I am deciding to log the important developments that are brewing in my creative process for the project of news and updates to share with the fans. They will be called Production Logs. To kick off my first log, I feel it’s necessary to establish what the story is about.
“In 1995, a struggling and alienated art student is imported into a life and death video game where he embarks on a dangerous quest in discovering not only his two lost older brothers, but also his courage and belief in himself to defeat the game’s champion and export them home before it’s too late.”

Screenplay: From November of 2011 to April 2012, the script is finally completed and the rights have been purchased for the piece. My very first official copyrighted material and I couldn’t be more happier at JEL. I should expect my certificate of ownership from the Library of Congress to arrive by June. Thanks to the guidance and help from Daniel Jerry Gierhart and Scott Loehrke, the writing process would have taken more time to complete. Originally I wanted to showcase my work in national screenwriting competitions, however I’ve decided to refrain. I want to invest my funds to produce and film the project instead. The competitions I had my eyes on were Scriptapoolza and the Nicholls Fellowship in Screenwriting. Attached is the first three pages of the story for you to enjoy.

Actors: I couldn’t be more happier to have a great group of talented people to be a part of this immense project. The majority of the actors I’ve had the privilege in working with in the past during in my time in Ohio. Although, I am excited with the addition of new talent from Nashville. Currently committed to the project are Dylan Stretchbery, Johnathon Byrd, Kelly Rogers, Jeff Loehrke, Aaron Gerdeman, Nathan Hermiller, and Christie Quirante.

Pre-Production: Ever since the script has been completed, the pre-production phase has been in full swing. Prospectus, production book, shot lists, location scouting, talent scouting and scheduling, costume and concept designing are to name a few that have been in the forefront of my workload this month. The biggest hurdle I am currently facing is scheduling and traveling for the talent.

Concept Design: With the arrival of the new editing software tools from Adobe®, I’ve been constructing and animating our drawing ideas into 3D space. I am very pleased with the technology and look that I’m creating for the film, although adjustments in my weapons design are in the works.
What’s next?
I expect to wrap up at the end of May 2012 the production schedule, shot list, and a video demo showcasing my concept designs for the actors to get a feel of what type of world they’ll be in for this adventurous ride. I’ve attached a couple of still shots because I couldn’t wait to the end of May to share. I’m just excited as you are.
Stay tuned!

Thank you for your kind words. I’m currently in the process of looking into the possibilities of having a Twitter account. If I take the plunge, I’ll create a post for my audience to know.
